Company History
Kelly Lawn and Landscaping, LLC is an Anchorage based landscape construction lawn care and snow removal company owned and operated by Colby Kelly. It was founded in 1999, intended to provide honest service, integrity, and hard work ethic. It started with fifteen original customers, a lawn mower borrowed from the garage, and the need for a 15 year old boy to have some spending money. Today, the company continues to grow.
Kelly, LLC has steadily grown from the time Kelly was 15 years old running the company through high school and college. Kelly graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor's in Business: Finance in May of 2007 returning home to Alaska to devote time to Kelly, LLC year round. The name of the company has changed a few times over the years and has recently become what it is today.
By 2001, the company had about 30 residential accounts and one full time seasonal employee. By 2003, the company’s name was switched to Kelly Lawn and Maintenance and had about 60 residential and commercial accounts with two full time seasonal employees. Landscaping services started at this time by request of customers asking for entry level projects. By 2007, Kelly, LLC serviced commercial and residential grounds maintenance accounts with 3 crews and provided landscaping service consisting of projects from small one day jobs to installations of new landscapes exceeding $30,000 for custom homes. Snow removal service was introduced in 2007. In order to learn the business we started small. We offered snow plowing to all of our residential customers and worked as a sub contractor for commercial properties.
Kelly, LLC currently has over 30 seasonal employees, 4 full time year round managers, and an office staff to meet the needs of our customers. Many of our staff members return year after year which allows us to provide consistent quality and grow responsibly.
To date we provide summer grounds maintenance and snow removal service to more than 50 condo associations and businesses in Anchorage. We also service over 200 residential customers, many of which utilize our service year round. Our landscaping capabilities meet the needs our smallest projects to those in excess of $60,000. It has always been our policy for all of our services that no job is too small. Larger scale projects are always looked at carefully and are executed only when equipment, manpower, and finances are sure to leave a successful track record.
Steady growth has been due to repeat customers serviced by our dependable staff making it possible to build on our client list each year. We realize that, in Alaska more than anywhere, reputation is everything.
